The tastefully designed El Dorado Beach Resort is located about 15 km south of Dumaguete. The Swiss managed resort has absolute beach frontage with a small house reef and its own black sand beach that stretches for miles to the north and south.
Several possibilities exist to reach the resort.
There are several flights daily (15 kg baggage allowance) from Manila to Dumaguete. The transfer by private minibus from the airport takes approximately 30 minutes.
When arriving from Cebu, there are 2 ways to choose from. Early in the morning there is a fast ferry Cebu to Dumaguete (approximately 3.5 hours) which returns the same afternoon. Alternatively you can get a transfer by car (approx. 4 hours) to the southern tip of Cebu, then a short ferry trip to Negros, and about another 30 minutes drive to the hotel.
Facilities
This small hotel has 45 rooms in 9 different categories. All rooms (except of the Tree House) have air condition, minibar, TV and private terrace.
The 14 small standard rooms are located at the rear of the resort. The 3 superior rooms are a much bigger. The deluxe rooms are equipped with modern facilities, some have showers in their own little garden. The premium rooms are very nicely furnished and leave nothing to be desired. There are 4 premium categories: Regular, Sea view, Sea view with Spa and Private garden (these can be booked as family room). The deluxe and premium rooms have been individually designed and are all located near the beach.
The resort has a popular beach restaurant on the waterfront, the Bell Ringer's Bar and the 24/7 pool bar. Upon request large screen films, underwater DVDs or sports events are shown on a big screen near the pool bar .
There is a small shop in the resort selling souvenirs and miscellaneous items. The hotel reception provides tour booking and car/motorcycle hire service .
The hotel offers a free shuttle service to Dumaguete (20 minutes away) 3 times a day . This drop off service is also available in the evening to the popular bar "Why Not" at the Boulevard in Dumaguete City, where guests can be entertained with live music, karaoke and pool tables, two nice restaurants and a deli shop.
