Temu Kira is part of the Indonesia based Grand Komodo Fleet. The boat was constructed from local timber in traditional Indonesian style. It is 27.5 metres (84 feet) long and 6.8 metres (22 feet) wide. The Indonesian registered boat conducts regular ten night cruises from Sorong in Irian Jaya.

Facilities and accommodation
The boat offers good comfort levels for up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. All cabins are equipped with individually adjustable air-conditioning and a private bathroom. There are two cabins with double beds and four cabins with twin beds.

Delicious meals are served in the air-conditioned salon. The Temu Kira has all modern technical equipment and a dive tender. Power supply is 220 volts. The boat has a large, partially covered sundeck and a separate dive deck. The Indonesian crew gets top marks from all guest. The odd communication problem is easily made up for by their friendly and helpful manner. All Komodo trips include a land excursion to visit the Komodo dragons.
Diving service
There is always a local dive guide on board who is familiar with the waters of the area. The dive operation is good quality and very customer focused. Temu Kira offers unlimited diving which usually translates into 4-6 dives per dive day depending in the itinerary. Generally the dives start from the main vessel and divers are then collected via tender.

Dive areas
Raja Ampat The waters surrounding Raja Ampat offer enchanting coral gardens, cliffs and an extraordinarily diverse world of fish. Macro lovers will find this region a true paradise. Pygmy seahorses, frogfish, blue ribbon eels and an incredible variety of nudibranchs are just a few creatures of this special little world. The reefs in Sorong, Waigeo and Misool are spectacular. Current diving is excellent here. Highlights include manta rays and a fascinating macro paradise.
Grand Komodo Tours
The Indonesian company is specialized in dive cruises. They offer a variety of cruises all over Indonesia on their five dive vessels. Every year they add new dive sites and cruises. Many of these cruises still display expedition character as they head for areas which are hardly ever explored. Anyone looking for adventure is in the right place. The boats Nusa Tara, Putri Papua, Raja Ampat Explorer, Tarata & Temu Kira are used as required.
We think...
Grand Komodo Tours have been offering these cruises very successfully for some years. We know of no other dive vessels who offer such outstanding diving for so little money. Customer satisfaction is very high and many divers are loyal repeat visitors. The slightly lower comfort level of the boats compared the newer vessels is more than offset by the lovely atmosphere.
