Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort is set in the small town of Dauin approx. 15km (9mi) south of Dumaguete. The hotel, situated in beautiful tropical gardens, has absolute water frontage with a private sandy beach.
Guests have a couple of options to reach the resort. There are several flights a day from Manila to Dumaguete (max. 15kg baggage allowance). Transfer from the airport takes approximately 30 minutes to the hotel. From Cebu, there are 2 different ways. In the early morning there is a fast ferry to Dumaguete (approximately 3.5 hours) that returns in the afternoon. Alternatively, you can get a transfer by car (approx. 4 hours) via the southern tip of Cebu, then take a short ferry trip to Negros, and then about 40 minutes by car to the hotel (pick-up done by the resort).
Accommodation
The resort has 10 standard rooms, 12 deluxe rooms, 2 family deluxe rooms and 2 suites. The standard rooms are airy and built from native bamboo. These rooms are located in the back part of the resort with ceiling fans and hot water showers. Some of these rooms have also air-conditioning.
All deluxe rooms and suites are close to the beach, with a beautiful veranda and most with sea views. They have air conditioning, ceiling fan, TV, fridge and large private bathrooms with hot and cold water shower. The 2 suites feature also a private jacuzzi.
Facilities
Restaurant, bar, swimming pool and spa services are all featured at this resort.
The restaurant on the first floor above the diving center has a wide selection of delicious international and Asian food. The choice of dishes is really great. Enjoy an evening at the poolside bar, or at the beach bar with a beer or a fine dessert.
The Sea Explorers PADI 5* Dive Centre is located on the premises of the resort. The pool facilities are used for learn-to-dive courses. The dive shop has ample gear storage, rinse areas and a large airconditioned classroom with state of the art facilities.
Staying Connected
Pura Vida Beach Resort has stable mobile phone reception. Prepaid local Sim cards are available. Common areas have wireless internet access for guests.
