The Blue Pearl usually starts their week-long excursions from Ras Ghalib to the best dive sites in the southern Red Sea which are the Brother Islands, Daedalus, Rocky Island, Zabargad, Elphinstone and the St. John's reefs. Occasionally the Blue Perl offers a Northern trip which includes wreck dives at the Abu Nuhas, the Rosalie Moller and the Thistlegorm.
Facilities and accommodation
With its 36 meters length (118 feet), the Blue Pearl is one of the flagships of the Blue Planet liveaboard fleet. Launched in late 2003, this ship meets the highest demands: The exterior of the Blue Perl is fitted with luxurious teak timber to impress, but the interior of the Blue Pearl is even more spectacular. In the large dining room which includes a separate bar guests can look forward to special culinary experiences, 10 spacious double cabins offer a maximum of 20 guests privacy with their own shower, toilet and individually adjustable air conditioning. Nitrox is available on board and safety standards are state of the art.
Diving service on board
Three to four dives will be offered each day. The dives are mainly done off the two extra dive boats (Zodiacs). They have 12-liter aluminium tanks with INT and also DIN connections on board. On request 15 lt. tanks are also available.
Those trips are not for absolute beginners. Some diving experience, at least 30 or 50 dives, depending on the tour, is a prerequisite for participating.
Dive areas
The Brother Islands still remain a hot spot for the diving community and offer fabulous impressions to any diver. Lush coral walls, two remarkable wrecks and rewarding encounters with an incomparable marine life and stunning coral guarantee an unforgettable diving experience.
Also the somewhat more remote Daedalus Reef and the famous Elphinstone reef, with its steep drop-offs promise large fish actions and overall spectacular dives.Excellent dive sites are of course also offered off Rocky Island, the island Zabargad, the St. John's reefs and the countless dives in the south.
The North offers wreck diving that ranges from very good to spectacular. The Thistlegorm is a must dive, you cannot miss this one! She holds plenty cargo like motorcycles, locomotives and war goods, really a unique dive.
