
Dive Center and service Ra Divers offer pristine diving adventures in the renowned Bligh Waters. These waters have until recently been accessible only by premier liveaboard cruises, but are now accessible from Ra Divers land based dive facility! Ra Divers (established in the 1980s), is one of Fiji's longest established diving operations, and their staff’s local knowledge and expertise is outstanding. They are located at Volivoli Beach (3 km from Rakiraki). Ra Divers is a professional PADI Gold Palm Dive Resort and SSI facility with onsite instructors. They offer dive trips for the certified divers, equipment rental and dive training.
Diving Two and three tank dives will provide you with an incredible variety of sea life all from a land based dive facility! From the tiniest of creatures to pelagics, from hard coral to hanging soft coral gardens, this will provide you with an exciting diving experience. Blue Ribbon Eels, Clown Triggers, Lion Fish, Leaf Scorpions, Reef Sharks and millions of colorful Anthias and Fusiliers all inhabit these waters. Ra Divers boats will quickly and comfortably transport you to one of the many explored and unexplored dive sites in the Vatu-I-Ra Passage.
The Boats Ra Divers dedicated dive boats for certified divers and an extra boat for dive students. The Blight Explorer and the Vatu Express are brand new purpose built dive boats capable of carrying 35 divers total. Freshwater, towels and light refreshments are provided on board their vessels.
Bligh Explorer: (10.6m/34ft) takes 16 divers and 4 crew, there is a toilet on board. Two thirds of the boat is covered by a sun roof. Twin fin friendly ladders. Vatu Express: (11.6m/38ft) takes 20 divers and 5 crew, there is a toilet on board as well. This boat is has a full sun cover. Single fireman’s style ladder. The Phantom: (9.5m/31ft) monohulled boat powered by twin DF140 Suzuki engines and comfortably able to accommodate 10 divers with 3 crew. Two thirds of the boat is covered by a sun roof. Single ladder. The Shadow: This is the students boat, a 7m (23ft) monohulle powered by a single DF140 engine. Half of the boat is covered. Dive area The reefs in the surrounding Bligh Waters are some of the healthiest in the world, with very little pollution and few boats, so you'll be able to see an array of marine life. The current managers have been with the business for over five years and their experience diving the Bligh Waters has allowed them to handpick superb dive sites for a truly unique experience.
This is a paradise for beginners and experienced divers with more than 50 superb dive sites. Most of the best sites are no more than 20 minutes by boat from Volivoli Beach. Some of Ra Divers’ most popular sites are the fascinating wrecks of the Papuan Explorer and the Ovalau. The Papuan Explorer, situated in 20 meters of water, she is Fiji’s largest and most accessible wreck and is teaming with marine life. From the tiniest of creatures to pelagics, from hard coral to hanging soft coral gardens, this dive area offers variety for divers.
