The Boat and Service
As with all vessels in the Dancer Fleet, you can expect that little extra when it comes to complimentary on board services and facilities like fresh daily towels, bathrobes, hair dryers and spacious wardrobes in your cabin as well as daily personal laundry service. The cuisine on board is plentiful and delicious. The chef is always after a reason to create something special! Complimentary alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages are offered on board.
However, these little indulgences don't in anyway compromise the dive setup and facilities on board, both of which are excellent - with Star Dancer one can enjoy safe & spectacular diving in a comfortable environment!
Star Dancer (Aluminum Mono Hull 38m/120ft) is a very spacious vessel that offers guests a number of areas to relax in comfort. Features of the vessel include: Massive sun deck with 2 hammocks & plenty of sun chairs. Saloon deck/dining room with outside seating area. Main deck includes dive deck & accommodation. Lower deck with owners suite & library/quiet room (cool place!). Tenders are used for emergency transportation.
Accommodation
A max. of 16 guests can be accommodated in 8 twin or double staterooms, all of which are located on the main deck, except for the owners suite on the deck below.
Each stateroom is very spacious and comfortable with a huge picture window that makes the rooms light and airy. 3 staterooms are fitted with queen beds, 2 staterooms can be configured with one large or two separate beds for double or twin occupancy and 2 staterooms for just twin occupancy only. The owners suite is located in the bow of the lower deck with a queen-size bed and two small porthole windows. All rooms have private bathroom and are equipped with hairdryer, toiletries, independent a/c settings and fresh towels. A daily, complimentary laundry service is provided.
Dive areas
Star Dancer offers 10 night itineraries out of Alotau in Milne Bay. The Milne Bay Province is blessed with a landscape of mountains, jungles, waterfalls, caves, hot springs, mud pools, and extinct volcanoes and of course some truly memorable diving. Surrounded by the Bismarck Sea, the Solomon Sea and the Coral Sea these waters bring diverse nutrients to feed the remarkable variety of marine life living in these waters.
The reefs are a photographer's paradise. Pristine and colourful corals are home to a variety of fish, crustacean and invertebrate life. Many of the reefs have resident schools of barracuda, tuna and jacks. You'll see blue ribbon eels, seahorses, cuttlefish, ghost pipe fish, leaf scorpion fish and mantis shrimp. Pelagics will also be a part of the scenery. There is a wide range of different dive sites to choose from. Some areas are well known for stronger currents.
Each cruise off the Star Dancer will be slightly different and unique. Here some well known dive sites which could be chosen by your Captain during your cruise: Samurai Pier, The Washing Machine (an 8 knot drift dive), Giants at Home (a manta cleaning station), Basliaki & Sideia Islands (home to P38 aircraft wreck), Nuakata Islands with Trish's Bommie, Bob's Bommie, Tunnel Reef, Jason's Reef, Peer's Reef and plenty more. Along the northern edge of Milne Bay sites such as Sullivan's Patches, Banana Bommie and Cobb's Cliff and the wonderful black sand dives at Observation Point can be found. There is also the wreck of Blackjack, the B17 bomber.

Qualified instructors and divemasters organise the diving. Thorough briefings will prepare you for the dives. Knowledgeable and enthusiastic local dive guides make sure that you don't miss the unique and elusive critter life.
NITROX fills for NITROX certified divers (additional charges apply).
A PADI NITROX certification course is available on board.
Lots of space to prepare your camera gear before and after dives.
