Location
The El Galleon Resort is located directly on the beach at the quiet western end of the Small Laguna bay north of Puerto Galera on the island of Mindoro.
The small town of Sabang is about 10 minutes walking away. The transfer from Manila is by minibus (about 3 hours) to Batangas and then by outrigger boat (1 hour) directly to the resort. Facilities The resort has 30 rooms with different standards. All rooms have air condition, fan, safe, private bathroom with hot water, a minibar and a terrace or balcony with seating. The simple budget rooms are equipped with a double bed or two twin beds. The slightly larger pool view rooms are equipped with double beds and also have a TV and a vanity corner. The family rooms are a little larger and can accommodate four people in one double and two single beds. The Seaview rooms are most popular with a large balcony overlooking the ocean; the furnishings are the same as in the pool view rooms.
Recently, El Galleon has also added comfortable apartments. These are well furnished and have two bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. The smaller apartments are for 4 people and the larger and more luxury apartments offer space for up to 6 guests on two levels.
There is a swimming pool with sun beds and a private restaurant which offers European and local cuisine, in the complex. The popular bar "The Point" is a lively place above the dive centre for divers to meet, have cocktails and share their experiences of the day. The bar offers a magnificent view of Sabang Beach. We think ... A nice resort with good vallue fo money. It is far enough away from the busy night life of Sabang Beach to enjoy a quiet night.
