The Carpe Diem is a new and comfortable dive boat which was built in 2008 in the Maldives. The boat with it´s 35 meters (115 ft) in length offers plenty of space for a maximum of 22 guests. The boat normally leaves on Sundays from Male. Trips on offer to the best dive sites in the Maldives are one and two-week excursions. Depending on the route inbound flights might be required.

The Carpe Diem is very comfortable and offers plenty of space for up to 20-22 divers in 10 cabins. The different cabin types are suite (1), deluxe (1), high standard (2) and standard (6). Two of the standard cabins can be used as triple occupancy cabins during group charters.

All cabins are fitted with individually controlled air conditioning, safety deposit boxes and comfortable private bathroom with hot water shower and toilet. The more expensive cabins are more spacious and have additional comforts like TV plus DVD/MP3 players.

The stylish lounge and bar area has comfortable seating. There, you can help yourself around the clock with, coffee, tea and water. You can enjoy interesting books from a small library and for entertainment you have TV and DVD/MP3 players and even a small dance floor...for salsa dancing!

They have a huge sun deck, which is partially shaded and has a sitting area in the middle and some lounge chairs. Food is usually served as buffet outside on deck of course under cover. There is also a small spa area where guests can enjoy themselves and can even been treated with a massage!

Something very special on each trip is free introductory a salsa night. With a trained salsa teacher on board, interested guests may take a full course to learn salsa dancing. Course fee applies.

Diving is done always from a separate dive Dhoni which is quite comfortable. The Dhoni has a toilet, two deck showers, first aid equipment and oxygen on board. The complete dive equipment is stored on the Dhoni, and so is the Nitrox system (32-40%) and the compressors. The dive Dhoni moves far away from the mother ship when they re-fill the tanks. This is an additional bonus, as you don't hear the noise of the compressors.

On board of the Dhoni is an experienced PADI Instructor. Three dives per day are possible except on the day of arrival and the day prior to departure where they offer no diving. A night dive is offered once a week. Various dive courses are offered as well on board.

During the 7-day trips they usually visit dive sites in the South Male Atoll and Ari Atoll. The 14-day trip visits those and additional dive sites in the North Male Atoll as well as parts of Rasdhoo and Felidhu atoll. Schedules can of course change according to weather conditions or special customer requirements.

The Carpe Diem is a very beautiful and comfortable boat. Also not so experienced divers are welcome. Especially friends of the South American salsa music will feel instantly at ease on board!
