Qamea Resort & SpaTaveuni

Qamea Resort is a luxury and exclusive destination located on a small island north of Taveuni. This beautiful island is surrounded by tropical jungle clad hills and white beaches.

There are 11 Beachfront Bures, 2 Honeymoon Bures, 1 split level Honeymoon Villa, 2 Premium Villas and 1 2-bedroom Premium Villa with own beach, private pool & 2 bathrooms for adult families or friends travelling together.

The Beachfront Bures have king size beds, modern split air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities and a separate living area. You will have a beautiful view of the ocean.

The two Honeymoon Bures feature a romantic canopied four poster bed with soft white decorative mosquito netting curtains and boast a bathroom of over 300 square feet with walls that slide away and open onto a private outdoor courtyard with an enticing natural stone Jacuzzi spa pool.

The Honeymoon Villa has the bedroom in the upper level, just 2 steps from the lounge. The villa is raised six steps above the lawn, and is fully screened. The bedroom is appointed with a large bamboo king size bed, side tables with figured lamps, large wardrobe, vanity unit, lounge chair and decorative mosquito net over the bed. Throw cushions, mats and Fijian art add to the overall luxurious effect. The lounge has two divans, both of which can become beds when needed, an imported lounge suite, side tables, sideboard for minibar and tea/coffee making facilities and decorative table lamps and paintings. There is also a writing desk and several comfortable easy chairs. The oversize bathroom has an indoor shower, double sinks, and opens to a private outdoor riverstone courtyard with both an outdoor shower and jacuzzi spa bath.

The two Premium Villas have a swimming pool with sweeping ocean views. The spacious bathrooms contain imported fixtures, including double sinks and an indoor shower. A separate door to the private river stone courtyard has an open air shower with access to the deck and pool. One of the many highlights of the Premium Villas are their large covered decks that extend to the beach with expansive views of Qamea’s pristine lagoon and romantic sunsets.

The Two Bedroom Premium Villa is at the furthest end of the beach on the resort, has its own white sand beach, large deck with pool facing the ocean, two bedrooms (one with private en-suite bathroom and shower), and a second bathroom with outdoor shower. Like the two other Premium Villas, the Two Bedroom Premium Villa boasts a 42" Plasma Screen TV with DVD player, stereo system, telephone, and complimentary sunset cocktails and hors d'oeuvres delivered each evening. The Premium Two Bedroom Villa is our only accommodation with a washing machine, satellite TV, and full formal dining area.

The Resort have a new jungle Spa where the guests have the chance to relax during their stay. Qamea Spa offers an extensive menu of Fijian body therapies and French facial therapies featuring Guinot products that relax, rejuvenate, revitalize and renew your mind, body and soul.

All food is fresh and high quality. The fruits and vegetables are organic and usually from their own gardens. The seafood is local, beef and poultry is from Australia and New Zealand.

For breakfast you will get a lot of choice to order, e.g. papaya Frensh toast or Mango pancakes. For lunch and dinner, the menue change daily, and you will always have a choice of two entrees/ starters and three mains with at least one vegetarian option. There are always snacks available between the meals, homemade cakes and tea are also served in the afternoon.

Qamea have their own wine cellar with a selection of Australian, New Zealand and Californian wine. Once a week (sunday afternoon) the guests can also do a wine tasting.

The resort have a small dive shop which is guided by a friendly, organised and safety concious dive team. They are equipped with a 9 meter (30ft) dive boat, new dive computers and BCDs, and also Nitrox.

All the dive sites are very close to the resort. For small groups they offer day excursions to other dive regions in Taveuni like the Somosomo Straight.

There are a lot of possibilities for activities apart from diving. Guests can do snorkelling, hobie cat sailing, windsurfing, sea canoeing, hiking, croquet and Qamea also offers island tours to the local villages where you can see waterfalls and lots more.

Qamea has a no children policy (min. age for a stay is 16 years).

From the international airport Nadi, on the main island, you need to take a domestic flight to Taveuni Island. A staff member will pick the guests up and transfer them to the resort with a private car and boat.
