The Maldives Siren is a 34m long (112 feet) schooner. She was built in Indonesia in the traditional style, using ironwood and teak. This luxury dive vessel specializes is ideally equipped for Underwater Photographers and Videographers. This boat was previously operating in Thailand as SY Siren.

Accommodation
The ship has 8 cabins, all equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, an AV entertainment system, PC and private bathroom. As a rule, there is a maximum of 14 guests on dive tours but the this boat can take up to 18 people on a full charter.

There is 1 double cabin at the rear and another double cabin with an additional single bed (ideal for families) at the bow of the boat. There are two twin cabins where one of the beds can be made into a double. Another two cabins have three single beds each.

The Maldives Siren is a schooner and will attempt to set wind sail at least once on each trip. In general, it is engine driven.

Dive service
The ship conducts dives in small groups of up to 6 divers, but of course guest are welcome to dive in buddy pairs if they prefer. Dive time is limited to 1 hour. Up to four dives are offered each day and all diving is done with fast dinghies. NITROX is free on the Maldives Siren. For those who are not Nitrox divers, the course can be done on board. Dive courses up to Rescue Diver and Continuing Education are available. The ship caters especially for underwater photographers. Each cabin has its own PC, extra charging stations and an extra basin for washing cameras.

All Siren fleet vessels have tanks that can take either DIN or Yoke regulators. Rental equipment (Regulator, BCD, wetsuit, weight belt & snorkeling gear) is included in the tour price. It is necessary to book rental equipment in advance. Dive computers, torches (flash lights) and underwater cameras can be rented at an additional cost.

Occasionally, the Maldives Siren offers special dive cruises for deaf and hearing impaired divers. These tours are accompanied by specially trained instructors. However, everyone is welcome.
