Mindoro, just south of Luzaon Island, is the seventh largest island of the Philippines. The small port town of Puerto Galera is a tourism hub with many beaches and accommodation. The combination of beautiful beaches, clean waters and its proximity to Manila has made it one of the most visited destinations in the Philippines. The rugged hinterland, has dense tropical rain forest. The Mangyan, the original inhabitants of Mindoro live here.
You get to Puerto Galera by raod from Manila to Batangas where you then take a ferry over to Mindoro. It takes about five hours to get there.
