Climate & travel periods
The trips to the Arctic take place during the Southern winter. The temperatures are between 0° and 6°C (32°-43°F). The same temperatures can be expected in the Antarctica, where the visits take place during the Australian summer. This is of course not a guarantee that its not even time can be colder. In both regions, the sun stays 24 hours in the sky.
Language
Board language is English.
Currency
On the ships in the Arctic is priced Euros, in the Antarctic in USD. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Electricity
220 volts, a special adapter is needed.
Photography and movies
Film and photo material is only partially available at inflated prices and stored is not always optimal. In the enthusiasm over the wonderful photo opportunities, do not forget to ask the indigenous population from photocopying to each permission. However, this can also come across once rejected? An attitude that must be respected.
Health
Participants of these trips should be generally healthy. On both vessels, a small hospital room with a doctor. We recommend to taking out travel insurance and a diving accident insurance.
Dive insurance
All dive operators promoted by Diversion Dive Travel adhere to very high standards for safety and equipment. A current Diver Evacuation & Accident cover is recommended for all diving arrangements.
For a nominal yearly membership fee, the DIVERS ALERT NETWORK (DAN) provides year-round diver evacuation and accident cover. For more details on membership and insurance options, please contact your regional DAN office according to your area of residence:

In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled travel arrangements, Diversion Dive Travel strongly recommends that suitable travel insurance is purchased at the time of booking.
A comprehensive Travel Insurance policy covers any losses suffered as a result of cancellation due to medical circumstances, related medical expenses incurred whilst abroad and cover against loss or damage to baggage and personal items.
