Climate & Travel periods
British Columbia is one of the warmest provinces in Canada with pleasantly warm summers and mild winters. Only in the Rocky Mountains, there is a lot of snow. Alaska’s climatic conditions are quite different, the summer in Anchorage are pleasant, the winters mild. In Fairbanks and the interior appear extreme temperature fluctuations with average 22°C (72°F) in summer and -28°C (-18°F) in winter.
Drinking water
Tap water is drinkable in Canada, but it often contains chemical additives that can affect the taste of water.
Language
In both British Columbia and Alaska English is spoken.
Currency
National Currency is USD for Alaska and the Canadian dollar for British Columbia. All major credit cards are well-delivered.
Electricity
110 volts, an adapter is needed.
Dive Insurance
All dive operators promoted by Diversion Dive Travel adhere to very high standards for safety and equipment. A current Diver Evacuation & Accident cover is recommended for all diving arrangements.
For a nominal yearly membership fee, the DIVERS ALERT NETWORK (DAN) provides year-round diver evacuation and accident cover. For more details on membership and insurance options, please contact your regional DAN office according to your area of residence:

General travel insurance
In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled travel arrangements, Diversion Dive Travel strongly recommends that suitable travel insurance is purchased at the time of booking.
A comprehensive Travel Insurance policy covers any losses suffered as a result of cancellation due to medical circumstances, related medical expenses incurred whilst abroad and cover against loss or damage to baggage and personal items.
