Beqa Lagoon ResortBeqa Island

Beqa Lagoon Dive Centre
Beqa Lagoon Resort operates a full service 5-Star PADI Dive Center on the resort premises. PADI Open Water and Advanced dive courses as well as many specialty certifications can be arranged on the island but should be booked in advance. Showering and changing facilities as well as new and improved drying facilities for equipment are available for the divers. Nitrox (32%) and Tusa & Trident dive gear rental is available at extra charge.
Dive Service
There are 2 spacious dive boats with indoor, outdoor and top deck seating for up to 16 divers each. There are comfortable step ladders and ample area for suiting up, and snacks are served in-between dives. There are no toilets on board. A smaller fast aluminium dive boat called "Nayamoto" for 6 divers is also available.

A typical schedule consists of 2-tank dives after breakfast and you will be back in the resort for lunch. A third tank dive may be offered in the afternoon, as well as a night dive before or after dinner, though many divers succumb to island life quickly and retreat to their hammocks.
Dive area
Beqa Lagoon is surrounded by over 300 km (190 miles) of spectacular coral reefs. Within the lagoon, the water is clear and warm, visibility is typically over 30 meters (100 ft), currents are mild, and the water temperature stays a fairly constant 26C (80F). Many of the best dive spots are only a short boat ride from the resort, and it is almost impossible to explore every one of the more than 100 different dive sites.

The dive masters at Beqa Lagoon have been diving in these waters since they were children. They know every reef and coral head, and they are happy to point out the most intriguing creatures you might encounter - blue ribbon eels, clown triggers, lion fish, leaf scorpion fish, reef sharks hundreds of species of colourful soft corals all inhabit these waters.
Beqa Shark Dives
Beqa Lagoon Resort has commenced operating a new Shark Dive and Big Fish Encounter exclusively for guests staying at the resort. The dive site known as the Cathedral is just a short 30 minute boat trip from the dive center. Three times a week (on Monday, Wednesday and Friday) a 2-tank shark dive is operated from the resort. The resort also offers the opportunity to do the Aqua Trek shark dive at the dive site called Bistro on Wednesdays. The dive trip is hosted by an experienced marine biologist and will allow up to 16 divers at a time to dive with rare aquatic species including Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks and other sharks and notable large fish species such as Giant Trevally.

All shark dives need to be booked in addition to the regular accommodation/dive packages. Surcharges apply.

The bull sharks can be experienced on almost every dive year round. They are less abundant during the months of November and December, which is their mating season.
Surfing
Surf the Fiji Pipeline! Voted one of the best two waves in Fiji. Powerful, fast developing world class left with prevailing offshore winds, Frigate Passage (also known as Fiji Pipeline) is located on the south-western barrier reef of the island of Beqa, just a short distance from Beqa Lagoon Resort. Frigate Passage offers the ideal conditions that naturally generate these kinds of world class waves. Come surf the Fiji Pipeline and live the island way without the crowds, stress, and traffic of the mainland.
