NortadaBaltra

Nortada
Nortada is the newest diving yacht in Galapagos, starting its operation in early 2015. A new concept in Galapagos diving, she normally takes only 8 divers, making her a fantastic choice - especially, but certainly not exclusively, for dive clubs, families, small diving groups of all kinds. Nortada regularly offers 7 night itineraries (Friday to Friday) from/to Puerto Ayora on Baltra to Darwin and Wolf.
Accommodation & Features
Nortada accommodates a max. of 8 divers in 4 lower deck, fully airconditioned cabins, each with two single lower berths, private heads, lockers and drawers.

For full boat charters, Nortada also features an extended occupancy option of up to 12 people. The additional guests can be accommodated in the four full size upper bunk beds available in every one of the four cabins.

On the upper deck, a sun deck is next to the fly bridge. Public areas consist of a main deck with bridge, galley, airconditioned dining room and lounge.
Dive Service
Nortada is a great choice for any recreational diver wishing to dive in small groups. It is also geared for tech divers. The dive operations will be provided by Galapagos Tip Top Dive, a PADI 5 star Instructor Development, National Geographic and Tec Rec Dive Center in the Galapagos Islands. The boat will be equipped with both Nitrox and re-breathers with all of the appropriate support.

Two 15 foot inflatable tenders with 20HP outboard engines will take divers to and from the dive site. Each tender carries 4 divers. All divers are provided with a Nautilus Lifeline bi-directional VHF/DSC marine radio with GPS, dive alert and DSMB.
Nitrox is available and for technical and re-breather diving, redundant oxygen clean Haskell Sport Boosters, one Tri Hunter 3000 Gas mixing stick for Trimix blending, several nitrox compatible 40 cu ft / 6 liter aluminum stage cylinders and several 19 cu ft / 2 liter steel re-breather cylinders with various valves and one Analytical Industries Trimix Analyzer are available upon request.

You will have up to 4 dives daily, night dives where regulations and conditions permit, and land visits on certain days. A 7 night itinerary offers the ability to do at least 20 dives per week. It features the world-famous Wolf and Darwin, plus the exciting addition of the top three dive sites in the north-west region of the archipelago. Isabela and Fernandina dive sites are where Flightless Cormorants, Galapagos Penguins, Marina Iguanas and several other endemic species, along with Manta Rays, Mola-Mola and different types of Baleen Whales, are usually sighted.
Dive area
Nortada has permits for Wolf & Darwin itineraries. On request, it may also be possible between January and June to dive the western and central islands with a combination of diving and naturalist land visits.

The following amazing dive areas will be visited (weather permitting) as part of the excursions:

Wolf and Darwin Islands: You may see hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, Galapagos sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, green and hawksbill turtles. Another attraction for sure are the fur seals, jacks, scorpionfish and dolphines. Perhaps even a whaleshark around Darwin Islands. Expect 1 to 3 knots currents!

Humboldt Season: Departures between 01 June and 31 December. Colder currents. Whale Shark season.
Panama Season: Departures between 01 January and 31 May. Warmer currents. Manta Ray season.
