Agnes Gateway Hotel is a locally owned and operated family business. During your stay you will get to meet many family members. You will be living very close to adjacent local villages where you can observe traditional Solomon Islands life and become involved in the local culture.
Agnes Gateway Hotel is a 22 room hotel with views of the Roviana Lagoon. It offers a range of accommodation from suites and stand-alone cottages to budget rooms. Guest rooms are either twin or double bedded and all have their own private bathroom facilities. All rooms are mosquito netted and fan cooled. They are serviced daily.
The Zazala Wing Suites on the upper floor has 4 air-conditioned double rooms with separate lounge, ensuite facilities and lagoon views.
The Ibibu Cottages are 8 air-conditioned studio rooms with fans, ensuite and lagoon views. 4 of these studio rooms are set up as double rooms with queen beds. The other 4 studio rooms are twin bedded with two king single beds per room.
The 4 Naru Wing standard rooms are twin bedded with fans and private bathroom facilities. They are located on the lagoon shore.
Located on the water’s edge, the Roviana Restaurant is open from early morning until late and serves a range of local dishes and English cuisine for breakfast, lunch and diner. Special seafood dishes are prepared locally and freshly served.
The adjacent Munda Bar is a wonderful place to meet other travellers and is open from early morning to late evening. Enjoy a sundowner drink whilst sitting in the Vetu Valusa leaf house out over the water watching the sunset.
Besides diving and snorkelling, you can also join other activities such as bushwalking, canoeing, rainforest and wildlife fauna tours, island picnics and barbeques, fishing and taking part in land-based American, New Zealand and Japanese WW2 site visits.
Getting to Munda
Munda is very accessible by plane from Honiara. Solomon Airlines operates a daily one hour flight from the capital. Domestically you can also connect easily by plane several times a week from/to Gizo. Internationally you can connect from either Brisbane, Nadi or Port Moresby.
Wifi is available for inhouse guests. The Munda Telekom office offers and email service to the public. It is open from 8am to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday, with an hour lunch break at noon. S.I. Telekom phone cards are for sale at hotel reception. These cards can be used at the phone situated in the corner of the lodge’s Leaf Lounge. Ibibu Cottages and Zazala Wing Suites have phones which can be used at a premium over S.I. Telekom rates. Mail only goes out of Munda on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
