Rebuilt from a 52-metre (171ft) steel-hulled merchant vessel, MV Solitude One is almost a complete makeover from her original form to set new standards in hospitality and professionalism. With divers in mind, the vessel was purpose-built to incorporate smart design, functionality and comforts close to home.
Solitude One operates 7 and 10 night dive trips in Palau from September to March. She offers 6-7 night cruises in the Philippines, Tubbataha, Malapascua & Southern Visayas, from April to August.
MV Solitude One has a total of 10 cabins that can accommodate a maximum capacity of 22 guests:
2 Staterooms: 1 Stateroom is located on the main deck and 1 below deck. Both cabins feature a king size bed each and a day bed which can be converted into a single bed for a 3rd person sharing.
7 Deluxe Cabins: 4x Twin or Double, 2x Double and 1x Twin, bunk bed style. One Deluxe twin cabin is located on the main deck; the other Deluxe cabins are below deck. The cabins feature either queen beds or 2 single beds.
1 Standard Quad/Family Cabin: This cabin is below deck and features a bunk bed with one upper bunk and one lower bunk and 2 single beds for max. 4 divers.
All cabins and stateroom have en-suite shower (hot & cold) and toilet.
For taller guests, they will be pleased to know that the headroom is adequate in most of the guests areas and the length of all mattresses in every cabin category are 199cm (6.5ft).
Designed both for social interaction and private reflection, the lounge immediately sets you at ease with its décor and colour scheme. From its plush, comfy chairs beckoning you to sink into them with a good book to sturdy work tables and chairs to play card and board games with your fellow divers, this will be a great area to come to between dives and after dinner.
For all the sun lovers, the sprawling deck pulls out all the stops with all kinds of ways for you to enjoy soaking up some vitamin D. Half the deck is swathed in shade for those of you who prefer fresh sea air under some UV protection. The deck is also great for watching out for dancing dolphins and breaching mantas or hanging out in the evenings to look at constellations in the night sky.
Meals are carefully planned and constructed to make sure all palates are taken into consideration. Great pride goes into the preparation of these meals and special diets are attended to. A wide selection of teas, coffees and soft drinks are at your disposal and there will always be something for the peckish, even in the wee hours of the morning. The Bar will serve a good selection of spirits, wines and beer and those are readily available to you at an additional cost.
Adjacent to the lounge, you will find a digital 'dark' room and media library. WiFi and internet facilities are not available onboard Solitude One. The boat has satellite communication for sending emails, calls and SMS. A mobile signal will not be available in most areas dived. Guests can use the satellite phone at cost: USD 3 per block of 60 secs or USD 2 per email/SMS (limited to 140 characters each).
Paying much attention to detail, the dive deck was conceptualised by divers with a combined experience of over 100 years. With space enough to accommodate 30 divers and then some, tank racks, storage boxes, camera basins and equipment stowage were all fit in with practical, smart designs.
Powered by 3x Bauer HP Compressor IK120 with Bauer B-Kool 680-s Air Cooler Filtered by P41 Centralized System, quality is assured with every bottle filled. Nitrox-certified divers can also have EANx 32%, and rebreather support is also possible with advanced notice.
Dive gear rental is available at extra cost. It is mandatory to dive with a Nautilus Lifeline which are available on board for hire. All dives are guided by experienced dive guides. The ratio is 1 guide to 6 divers.
Two purpose-built fibreglass dive skiffs (11.5m = 37ft) powered with twin 150HP 4-stroke outboard engines will provide the comfort travelling to your dive sites quickly as well as the entry and exits for a dive easy. All dive skiffs are equipped with First Aid, Medical Oxygen, VHF Radios, Compass and GPS Navigation.
Two rinse tanks with air-gun and towels are provided for u/w camera users. There is a camera set up bench on the dive deck and two computer stations for guests use.
Internet access is available only via our Satellite Broadband (Inmarsat FBB up to 444kbs). You may purchase data packages in multiples of 50mb (25USD per 50mb). Only Skype and VideoStreaming will be inaccessible but internet browsing, messaging and other popular social media are accessible. You can use your own device (WIFI) or provided desk top computers to access the internet.
Solitude One is a comfortable and modern dive liveaboard. It offers divers a lot of space, comfort and convenience.
