Diving around Cebu is very diverse. There are splendid coral reefs around Moalboal and Pescador Island, and more beautiful coral gardens with healthy fish life.

A good spot to catch a rare encounter with large fish is at Malapascua Island to the north. In this area there are also some interesting wrecks. The reefs are largely intact and dynamite fishing is pretty much a thing of the past. However, some remote villages still use this fishing method today, but surrounding dive sites are constantly patrolled and protected from this practice.

Diving is possible all year round, although the best time to dive is November to May. The year-round water temperature is between 25°C and 30°C (77°-86°F). A 3 or 5 mm (1/8 to ¼ inch) wetsuit is sufficient.

The diving highlights are Pescador Island and Monad Shoal in Malapascua, where native thresher sharks and manta rays can be seen.

The nearest decompression chamber is located in Cebu City.
