Taveuni Dive is a Gold Palm 5-star IDC dive centre offering a range of courses and daily diving activities to Rainbow Reef. Its mission is to provide the safest, most reliable access to the incredible dive sites around Taveuni. Experienced local divemasters will guide you through the wonders of Rainbow Reef.
Dive Service
Taveuni Dive has 4 fully maintained and equipped aluminium dive boats. They are modern, comfortable boats which carry smaller groups so you get the best in personalised guiding.
There are over 25 sites about 15 minutes away from the marina where the boats are moored. Your surface interval will be spent discovering new bays or inlets close by or gentle driving to the next dive site with light refreshment.
Taveuni Dive provides a full range of the latest well-maintained rental equipment, and instruct PADI courses with their talented instructors. Nitrox is available.
Dive Schedule
We generally dive 2 tanks in the morning, so the dive boats leave between 8am and 9am. It takes about 15 minutes from Taveuni Dive to reach the Rainbow Reef. Typically after the first dive at Rainbow Reef, the surface interval is at Waitutavi Beach, a private, tranquil beautiful paradise on the neighboring island Vanua Levu. You are back at your resort between 1pm and 2pm in the afternoon, just in time for lunch.
Dive Day Boats
Tui Nunu is a 9.5m aluminum boat. Custom built and designed for divers. Tui Nunu has a canopy, ladder, giant stride platform and will carry 12 divers, 2 divemasters, 1 captain.
Tui Wai is the newest aluminium dive boat with 9.5m in length. This boat was also custom built and designed for divers and the seas in the Somosomo Straits. She has been around the island and on several expeditions and performs wonderfully. She has a canopy for shade, ladder and giant stride platform and will carry 12 divers, 2 divemasters, 1 captain.
Wananavu is an 8m aluminum dive boat. This boat has been custom built and designed for divers. She has a canopy, ladder, giant stride platform and will carry 8 divers, 1 divemaster, 1 captain.
Unplugged is the first aluminum dive boat of Taveuni Dive and she has been fantastic. She is 7m in length and has a canopy, ladder, giant stride platform and will carry 6 divers, 1 divemaster, 1 captain.
Dive Sites
Dive sites in Taveuni are exciting and varied with sheer reef walls from 1000m to the surface, shallow sunlit coral gardens and current-flushed channels. You can even find "gravel groveling" and "muck diving" in protected bays on the Taveuni coast.
So expect to be amazed by Taveuni underwater treasures, with 1500 species of fishes including dozen of rare or endemic species, 1000 known species of invertebrates and thousands more discoveries predicted.
