E H (USA) - Undercurrent December 2014
Sandy muck diving along a desolate landscape yet filled with wildlife easily observable as there is little coral from whence to hide. Observed at length the most intriguing creatures like pigmy seahorses, glittering pipefish, flamboyant cuttlefish, Wunderpus, baby barramundi, batfish, pinnate spadefish, exotic nudibranchs, spotted sweetlips, humpback scorpionfish and free swimming seahorses. The dusk dive in 10 feet of water to view the breathtakingly beautiful Mandarin fish is a must. Litter on the surface from neighboring villages mars a bit of the seascape but the resort is working with the locals for alternative means of disposal. The resort is set naturally into a cove of black sand with spacious rooms and 4-poster beds. Decent food. Quality dive operation, 2-4 divers from small boats. Bring a magnifier for the smallest of animals. A photographer's dream location.
