Layang Layang Dive Centre
The in-house PADI dive center at Layang Layang is professionally run by a team of experienced and qualified instructors. Certified divers get 3 boat dives daily. On your arrival day, there are two dives on offer and 3 dives on each subsequent day. Last day only one early morning dive to allow for gassing off time before flying back.
Dive Service
With fast speed dive boats, you are at fantastic dive sites in almost no time. There are approximately 20 dive sites which are not more than 10-30 minutes away from the resort. The dive times are scheduled for 3 daily dives: 1st dive 8.00am, 2nd dive 11.30am and 3rd dive 3.00pm. Divers are getting a thorough briefing and dive with their buddy. The dive guides are usually not in the water to lead the dives. The maximum dive time is limited to 60 minutes per dive and may sometimes be a little shorter. Equipment rental and PADI dive training is available.
Dive area
Layang Layang is a wall diving mecca. As many as 13 coral reefs have formed here, creating breathtaking underwater scenery. From the edge of the atoll, the reef walls drop to 2000m (6500ft) into the deep blue sea. Be ready for stunning dives with mostly fantastic visibility 30-60m (100-200ft). The combination of pristine walls, deep water is almost like a recipe for pelagic life and all sorts of colourful tropical fish. Highlights are for sure the scalloped hammerhead sharks which are there from March to August. If you want to see the hammerheads performing mating rituals, you should visit between March and May.
